I’m now watching my tenth game of football since friday which can only mean the world cup has kicked off down in South Africa. The pace of some of the teams has been slow off the start, including Englands lacklustre showing against America on Saturday. Germany seem to be the inform team going from the weekends games but there’s plenty more to come.

Here’s a shot of how we watch games in England. Look out for the beautiful looking girl in the front row acknowledging me. Bags of class right there. Altogether now; “In-Ger-Land, In-Ger-Land, In-Ger-Land, In-Ger-Land……………..”

England 1 – USA 1. “Shall we just get pissed?”

Here’s a couple of shots i’ve managed to dig out from previous years. The first one from Australia as our car decided to break down on my 19th birthday. After a while of trying to fix it and realising we knew nothing about fixing cars we decided just to get naked……

2 years ago was one of the most action packed days as i awoke for a sunrise hot air balloon ride and went to bed on a boat 850kms away later in the day. In between included breakfast in a cave, a trip to an underground city, a flight, a 3 hour traffic jam and a horse showjumping event. Action packed indeed.

Kevin Pearce is a snowboarder that absolutely rocks. Not only does he dominate any competition he’s entered into but now is producing the goods with Absinthe film crew stringing together great movie sections. Anyway, i’ve just heard that on new years eve he was training in the Park City halfpipe and took a big fall resulting in being knocked unconscious. I can’t find out exactly hows he’s doing now but reports are that he’s had surgery to relieve blood build up in his brain. Like everyone in the industry i’ll be sending my thoughts his way and hope that he has a speedy recovery.

The feature is from back in July on the glacier at Les Deux Alpes at Kumi Yama. Hopefully we should be seeing some more shots from this session run over the next month so i’ll keep my eyes out for them.

Sticking with the skiing theme, this weekend past really well considering the weather here in London. I was at London Freeze watching Australian skier Russ Henshaw destroy the field scoring an almost perfect 99 points! Double grab, double cork 1260 – not quite your standard stuff!

On Friday i rented a Tilt Shift lens from Calumet Photo bringing about some cool results. Here’s a shot of the setup through the eyes of the tilt shift. Loads more stuff has come out of Freeze, in amongst the mountain of work i’ll try and update you during the week.

Looking down at the beautiful snow covered mountains it seemed strange to be heading to London…..for snowboarding. So here i am, after another night on a bench in Zurich i’ve made it to London. Freeze time!

Along with the physical training i’ve also been attempting to raise £550 to go towards UNICEF to help them in their fight against HIV/AIDS in children throughout the Sub-Saharan Africa. The following is straight from UNICEF to show you where your donated money goes to:

£2.50 provides a birth certificate specifically for orphans and vulnerable children affected by HIV/AIDS.

£7 provides a young person living in the Republic of Congo with essential knowledge and competencies to avoid HIV/AIDS infection

£14 could provides a child living in the Republic of Congo with  psycho-social support for one year

£16 helps UNICEF identify a child in Mozambique or Malawi who has been orphaned by AIDS andprovide him/her with basic health care, proper nutrition, a school uniform and supplies, as well as psychosocial support during times of distress.

£19 buys an ‘Art-in-a-box’ materials kit, supplied to orphans and vulnerable children at special centres where they can meet others, interact and have fun.

£50 gives a year’s supply of medicine for a mother with HIV. This will ensure that her baby does not grow up an orphan.

£95 enables five children orphaned due to AIDS-related causes to receive help in overcoming theirtrauma and support to cope with daily life on their own.

Fishermans Bridge, as i like to call it is part of the route around the cities marathon

With a little luck i’ll be able to make it round in one piece with a respectable time. I sure as hell am looking forward to a beer come Sunday afternoon. As for the weather……….

If you get lost in the above sentence then its time to start reading up on some skate tricks but for the rest of you you’ll all know too well the influence Steve Caballero has had on skateboarding.

I was lucky enough to get five minutes with Steve last weekend as he visited Monster Skatepark in Sydney in a trip over from America. I had a bit of improvising to do as my lightstand and umbrella got smashed up a few nights before in the snow but with a tall helping hand and a beat up cupboard i was able to get a few shots before he got warmed up on the vert ramp. And what can i say? At 44 years old he is still killing it and looks right at home dropping in.

Legendary status for sure….
