Spring Shoots Wrap Up At Alpine Meadows

Posted by admin on 14 May 2011 / 1 Comment

A month ago i hooked up with Level 1 Productions for their springtime park shoot programme. I joined forces with skiers Parker White and Chris Logan as we drove from Tahoe to Idaho to Colorado and back to Tahoe clocking up roughly 2500 miles and a whole lot of great stories. The word ‘Spring’ has often been missing from these park shoots with weather changing on a day to day basis, including one of the craziest snow storms of the season – on May the 1st in Breckenridge!

This last week we’ve gone full circle finding ourselves back where the road trip started in Tahoe. Experiencing our first actual spring like conditions over at Alpine Meadows resort we enjoyed some cool features with BBQ and beer to hand. All good things must come to an end though as my North American venture comes to a close. I’m about to board a plane from Reno as i make my way back to Europe and onto the next chapter. Until then here’s a photo which i feel sums up the week at Alpine – Level 1 cinematographer Kyle Decker enjoying our first real taste of spring.

Breckenridge Park Shoot

Posted by admin on 04 May 2011 / 0 Comment

The Sun Valley shoot was put to bed last week and we made our way across country over to Breckenridge in Colorado. We arrived here into what seemed like mid winter as snow was dumping all around us making this spring shoot feel more like february time.

This morning though we woke up to better weather and made our way up to the jump which Breckenridge park crew had built for this shoot. What was awaiting us up top was some crazy solar rings high up in the sky. A perfectly shaped jump and a beautiful sky makes a great way to start the day.

On The Road To X Games

Posted by admin on 27 Jan 2011 / 0 Comment

Yesterday was one of those never ending days as i left English shores and headed stateside for the X Games which are beginning tomorrow. Taking full advantage of my Canon S95 9 which these days rarely leaves my hands) i put together a very quick and chopped up timelapse of my journey over here. It’s not designed to be taken too seriously and is just a fun way to glamorise the journey over here.

It was actually a great way to try and learn editing footage as quick as possible – most of this was done in the RV on the drive over from Denver. Just remember, all personal electronic items must be turned off during take off and landing. Apologies Continental…….

Ignorance is bliss

Posted by admin on 11 Oct 2008 / 0 Comment

After what seemed like forever i’ve finally made it back to the UK this weekend. i managed to fit in a three day “summer” holiday in LA on the way home and with temperatures hovering around the 40 degrees it was definitely hot enough.

I stayed down by the beach in between Santa Monica and Venice. What a wicked place. Armed with my skateboard it was so much fun cruising up and down then main stretch. Before my flight on Thursday i made my way to Venice pier and took a few photos of the surfers. With snowboarding photos there’s so many things you have to get right to make it a good photo. I’m sure that with surfing its exactly the same but for this first attempt its fair to say that ignorance is bliss. “that looks nice…..i’ll keep it!”

I’ve got a few things coming up over the next couple weeks. I’m going to be at the Londonfreeze festival (www.londonfreeze.com) near the end of the month quickly followed by a road trip to Saas Fee for the worldcup halfpipe and then onto Schladming in Austria for the Horsefeathers Pleasurejam. In the meantime i plan to kick up my feet and relax!
