Cronulla Beach Wedding – Paul & Sally

Posted by admin on 05 Aug 2011 / 1 Comment

The last day has been somewhat of a blur. Falling asleep last night at 5pm was always going to play havoc with my sleeping pattern which in turn gave me a kick awake at 3am. I’ve been wide awake since. The reason for my erratic sleep lays in the fact that i’ve just returned from a weekend away – in Australia.

In one of my more adventurous weekends i made it from the UK to Sydney to photograph Paul and Sally’s wedding. Paul has been a great friend of mine for a number of years and it was great to be able to make it over to witness such a unique wedding. Think lifeguard chauffeurs, sand dunes and a beach wedding involving sandboards, balmy temperatures and a big blue sky.  Having only arrived the morning before i was in a world of ignorance to the weather the previous weekend. The reality was that this wedding couldn’t have happened one week before as Sydney was in the process of experiencing the wettest July since 1950.

Luckily for me the carbon footprint i’ve just bestowed on the universe organised a truly beautiful day that no one at the wedding will ever forget.

Here’s just a little snapshot from the weekend.

Two Weeks In Jindabyne

Posted by admin on 27 Oct 2009 / 0 Comment

If you checked out the post a few weeks ago you’ll remember seeing the house i stayed at whilst in Jindabyne, Australia. Whilst i was there i made the regular trip outside to take a photo, opening and closing the patio doors roughly 270 times to capture the landscape at that moment.

I’ve not found myself in the position that often where the surroundings make a cool time-lapse video but hopefully i’ll find myself in these type of situations more often as they’re fun and super easy to put together.

Heading Down Under

Posted by admin on 19 Aug 2009 / 2 Comments

Its amazing what can be achieved if you take a couple of days out of your life and dedicate them to travelling…..

Without a doubt this was the favourite moment of the first flight. 6.55am, 12,000 meters above Penang off the coast of Malaysia.

Blogs First Birthday – What a present.

Posted by admin on 23 Jul 2009 / 1 Comment

So my blog has officially reached it’s first birthday and i’m so happy that the powers that be have gifted me a great birthday present. Large thanks must be aimed towards the Australian cricket team for scoring such a weak first innings at Lords cricket club last week. Because of that i managed to become one of the few lucky people to pick up special Qantas airfare based on those innings. All the details can be seen here.

Basically, there was no way in the world i could afford to travel to Australia and New Zealand this summer but now there is. Happy Birthday indeed.

Thanks to everyone for following this blog throughout the year. I’ve enjoyed compiling all my little stories and hope to keep it going well into its second year. If there’s anything you’d like to see added or changed in any way then just let me know, it’s always good to get others opinions. Other than that, onwards and upwards……or was that onwards and downunder?!
