JR: Omelia Contadina, San Gimignano, Italy

JR, in collaboration with Alice Rohrwacher, held a performative event titled 'Procession Omélia Contadina' ahead of his exhibition at Galleria Continua. The event began at the Cathedral of San Gimignano and continued to a nearby field where a large figure was ceremoniously buried in a 'funeral filled with life.' This unique and meaningful procession captured the essence of JR's upcoming exhibition at the gallery.

JR is a French artist known for his large-scale public installations and interventions. Using his signature technique of wheatpasting black-and-white photographs onto buildings and other structures, JR creates eye-catching and thought-provoking works that address social and political issues. His work often blurs the lines between art and activism, inviting viewers to engage with their surroundings and consider the world around them in new ways.
